Pay Rate $24.77 - $29.75 based on years of experience
Centurion is proud to be the provider of medical and mental healthcare services to the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. We are currently seeking a Full-time Medical Assistance Coordinator to support our Regional Pre-Trial Team in Baltimore, Maryland.
The Medical Assistance Coordinator will verify eligibility and facilitate enrollment in Medicaid for all Incarcerated Individuals (IIs) timely for inpatient hospital stays and in preparation for release. The Medical Assistance Coordinator will work closely with the vendor Certified Application Counselors (CAC)/Navigators to identify IIs needing applications, assist in completing applications, tracking status, removing barriers, and documenting Medicaid numbers or reason for ineligibility. The Medical Assistance Coordinator will ensure the information is collected, organized and shared timely with all necessary parties including the CAC/Navigators, Reentry Coordinators, Discharge Planners, and the Utilization Management team. The Medical Assistance Coordinator will prepare monthly reports summarizing application activity for the month.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Behavioral or Social Science or related field is required. • Experience with and an in-depth understanding of the Medicaid application and enrollment process, Affordable Care Act (ACA) requirements for incarcerated individuals, and the resources available for submitting and following up on Medicaid applications. •
- Current CPR and AED certification
- Corrections experience is a plus
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
