Centurion is proud to partner with Correctional Healthcare Experts as the provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the Kansas Department of Corrections. 

We are currently seeking a full-time Statewide Psychiatric Director to join our team at our Kansas Regional Office located in Topeka, Kansas.

The Statewide Psychiatric Director provides the clinical direction needed to meet the behavioral health and psychiatric service delivery requirements of a specific contract in collaboration with the Program Manager/Vice President of Operations (VPO). The Statewide Psychiatric Director supervises psychiatric staff and collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams in providing services to patients with psychiatric disorders in a correctional setting.

Key Components of this Leadership Position

  • Maintain excellent relationships with the client, Kansas Department of Corrections
  • Serve as the Psychiatric Expert for Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and Statewide Medical Director
  • Communicate with Providers and maintain awareness of critical patients at all locations
  • Work on-site as needed or through tele psych services
  • Participate in hiring and training new Psychiatrists and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners
  • Ensure adequate coverage and scheduling, in cooperation with management
  • Maintain records and generate reports
  • Complete site visit reports for review

Qualifications

•    Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school required
•    Active and unrestricted Kansas MD/DO license or the ability to obtain one required
•    Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry required
•    Minimum 1-2 years of clinical leadership experience
•    Correctional healthcare experience preferred
•    Ability to pass credentialing and background check

Must be willing to travel to facilities across the state, as needed.  Centurion reimburses all travel expenses.
