Description

Centurion is proud to be the provider of mental health services to the Georgia Department of Corrections.

We are currently seeking a PRN Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Hancock State Prison - Sparta, GA.

Shift:

  • Flexible PRN schedule with occasional holiday coverage. Requires one weekend shift per month and a minimum of two shifts per month to remain active. Ideal opportunity to get to know the team, workflow, and environment before deciding on a full-time commitment.

 Hourly rate:

  • $33.00 an hour

Qualifications

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct, patient-centered nursing care within scope of practice in a structured clinical environment, supporting the physical and behavioral health needs of an incarcerated population. This role works collaboratively under the supervision of Registered Nurses and medical and mental health providers to ensure safe, consistent, and quality care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver routine and specialized nursing care in accordance with established protocols and standards

  • Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the RN or provider

  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered

  • Support behavioral health interventions in collaboration with psychiatric staff

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

  • Adhere to safety, security, and infection control procedures

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or ability to obtain

  • Current CPR certification

  • Ability to obtain required security clearance, including drug screening and background check
