Centurion is proud to be a leading provider of comprehensive healthcare services to correctional facilities, state hospitals, and community mental health centers nationwide. 

We are currently seeking an Director of Microsoft Cloud & Modern Workplace to join our Corporate team located in Sterling, Virginia. This is an onsite position.

The Director of Microsoft Cloud & Modern Workplace will serve as the enterprise authority and hands-on leader for our Microsoft ecosystem, driving the strategy, design, engineering, and operations of Microsoft platforms across the organization. This role combines strategic vision with technical execution—aligning our Microsoft roadmap with enterprise objectives while ensuring operational excellence across Azure, Intune, Autopilot, Entra, and the Microsoft 365 suite.

As a senior member of the IT leadership team, this leader will partner with business executives, technology peers, and vendors to transform the way our workforce engages with technology, enabling secure, seamless, and modern collaboration experiences for over 10,000 employees nationwide.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

As a key leader of the Information Technology Team, you will report directly to The Chief Information Officer. The following are essential duties and responsibilities of the role:

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the enterprise Microsoft strategy, aligning cloud and modern workplace technologies with organizational goals.
  • Act as the primary advisor to the CIO and executive leadership on all Microsoft platform initiatives.
  • Lead long-term planning for Microsoft technology adoption, lifecycle management, and modernization efforts.

Engineering & Operations

  • Provide hands-on leadership for Azure infrastructure, Intune, Autopilot, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, and Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Oversee design, deployment, and optimization of end-user compute environments, device lifecycle management, and identity/security integrations.
  • Ensure high availability, resilience, and scalability of Microsoft cloud services across the enterprise.
  • Build operational runbooks, best practices, and automation to support efficient service delivery.
  • Develop and implement best practices and standard operating procedures for Microsoft technology initiatives.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Microsoft engineers and administrators, fostering technical excellence and accountability.
  • Establish clear performance metrics, operational standards, and service delivery targets.
  • Partner with cross-functional IT and business leaders to ensure adoption and value realization of Microsoft technologies

Governance, Security & Compliance

  • Ensure Microsoft platforms meet enterprise security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Security, Networking, and Applications teams to drive identity management, conditional access, and endpoint security strategy.
  • Lead vendor management and licensing optimization for Microsoft products.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive IT leadership with at least 5 years in a senior engineering or director-level role focused on Microsoft platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Deep hands-on expertise with:
  • Azure (IaaS, PaaS, identity, networking, automation)
  • Intune & Autopilot (endpoint management, device provisioning, policy enforcement)
  • Entra ID (Azure AD) (identity & access management, conditional access)
  • Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
  • Strong track record of building and operationalizing enterprise strategies in large-scale environments (10,000+ users).
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams while also rolling up sleeves for hands-on execution.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence executive stakeholders and articulate technical roadmaps in business terms.

Preferred:

  • Master's or equivalent field experience 
  • Experience in healthcare, highly regulated industries, or large multi-state organizations.
  • Microsoft certifications (Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with ITIL, Agile, and modern IT service delivery frameworks.
