Description

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Day Shift

Dodge State Prison Chester, GA

Centurion is proud to partner with the Georgia Department of Corrections to provide high-quality medical and mental health services. We are currently seeking a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at Dodge State Prison.

Schedule

  • Day Shift 10 hr. shift  40 hours per week   Tuesday- Friday  7:30 AM – 6:00 PM 

  • One weekend rotation (typically every 3–4 weeks)  Holiday coverage varies

Compensation

  • $29.00 – $34.00 per hour (based on years licensed as an LPN)

  • $1.50 shift differential + $1.00 weekend differential

Qualifications

Position Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care to an incarcerated patient population within the scope of practice. This role works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Director of Nursing (DON), and/or Nursing Supervisor and collaborates with the healthcare team to support patient care, treatment plans, and clinical operations.

Essential Duties

  • Provide direct patient care, including medication administration and treatments

  • Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the RN or provider

  • Accurately document nursing assessments and interventions

  • Assist with intake screenings and chronic care clinics

  • Follow established policies, procedures, and safety protocols

  • Collaborate with custody and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care

Minimum Qualifications

  • Practical Nursing diploma or equivalent (required)

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or ability to obtain one

  • Current CPR certification

  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance, including drug screening and criminal background check
