Assistant Director of Nursing GDCP (Prison) $105K
Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the Georgia Department of Corrections.
We are currently seeking a full-time Assistant Director of Nursing GDCP (Prison) $105K to join our healthcare leadership team at GA Diagnostic & Classification State Prison (GDCP) in Jackson, Georgia.
The Associate Director of Nursing (Medical) is responsible for providing direct supervision and operational oversight of nursing and support staff within a large, secure correctional facility. Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the ADON supports the delivery of nursing care while ensuring consistent adherence to clinical policies, security procedures, and institutional protocols.
This role requires a leader who can operate effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced, policy-driven environment and remain steady within a structured system serving a complex patient population. Success in this position depends less on flexibility and more on consistency, decisiveness, and endurance.
The ADON collaborates closely with medical providers, custody staff, and interdisciplinary teams to respond to a wide range of medical and behavioral health needs while maintaining operational stability across a large campus.
Schedule & Compensation:
Full-Time Day Shift
Monday–Friday 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Some weekend coverage required
Salary: $105K

Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise nursing and support staff on assigned shift within a secure correctional setting
Ensure delivery of nursing care in compliance with Centurion policies, GDOC regulations, and facility security requirements
Reinforce expectations consistently, even in high-pressure or challenging situations
Collaborate with custody, providers, and leadership to maintain safe and efficient operations
Provide direct and indirect patient care as needed
Support staffing coordination, workflow oversight, and staff accountability
Maintain composure and leadership presence in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Experience & Qualifications (Critical for Success):
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Associate’s degree with an active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience required
Active, unrestricted RN license in the applicable state
Current PPD documentation for tuberculosis screening
Current CPR certification
Demonstrated ability to provide nursing care with a high degree of autonomy
Strongly Preferred Experience:
Correctional, locked facility, or secure behavioral health experience, including prisons, forensic units, locked psychiatric units, or similar environments
Behavioral health experience, including comfort with de-escalation, boundary enforcement, and high-acuity populations
Experience working in fast-paced, high-volume settings, particularly large or complex campuses
Emergency Department (ER) leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Supervisor, Manager, or equivalent) is highly valued when paired with strong adherence to structure and policy
Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance, including drug screening and criminal background check
