We are seeking a full-time Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our team at Suwannee Correctional Institution located in Live Oak, Florida, 60 miles North of Gainesville and 75 miles West of Jacksonville, Florida.

Experience the beauty and tranquility of Old Florida while living in North Central Florida!  Southern old-town charm, abundant outdoor activities, historical battlefields and state parks, crystal clear freshwater springs all while being within the gateway of Florida! 

Lead inpatient psychiatric services in a provider friendly environment where clinical care is prioritized.  This is a male correctional institution utilizing some of the most innovative programming to assist those with serious mental illness.

NHSC Loan Repayment is available for qualified full-time candidates!

The Psychiatrist provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients, works under the supervision of the Psychiatric Medical Director, and provides clinical leadership for a multi-disciplinary team in providing behavioral health services to patients with psychiatric disorders or other mental health issues.

Qualifications

• Documentation of education as MD or DO and completion of accredited residency program required
• Current license to practice medicine in Florida required
• Board Certification for Certification in Psychiatry
• Must have an active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration certificate
• Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certification
• Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing as psychiatrist in a clinical setting preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a clinical setting
• Experience in correctional mental health care or locked unit preferred

Available Shift

• Monday-Friday
• Day Shift
• NO weekends, NO evening, NO holiday!
• All full-time Psychiatrists participate in rotational on call approximately every 6 to 8 weeks.  The on-call lasts for 7 days / 24 hours per day and is compensated above and beyond the guaranteed annual salary.
